A huge sail of 6.2 nm saw us over on Skorpios at Loutraki, the port town for Glossa. The guide books say it’s one of the most beautiful villages in the Sporades Archipelago but it’s very quiet at the moment and the little streets up in the town are empty of visitors.

One of the reasons I was keen to go there was to eat at the Agnanti Restaurant.  Friends had recommended it,  as well as the pilot guide and the Lonely Planet, so it had to be done.

It was opened in 1953 by the present owner’s great grandmother and was originally called Gallia to appeal to the French tourists. It was renamed Agnanti meaning ‘View’  in 1983. Nikos, who runs it now, has modernised it and uses lots of local ingredients and it’s become an award winning restaurant.

Unfortunately it’s a bit misty so the view not quite as good as it could be but not bad!

I haven’t been able to drink much wine in recent years as it gives me a two-day headache . I can report, however,  that the  local, organic red seems to suit me!
