I am writing to tell you I’m leaving you. I know we’ve been together a while but now it’s over.
It’s not you. It’s me! You’ve been brilliant. Loud, busy, full of boats and ferries and sailors and holiday makers and Italians. But I want more. I want the wide open sea, secluded bays, white churches, octopus hanging outside tavernas and ancient amphitheatres. I have to leave now or I might never go.
I’ll never forget you. You’ve been in my life for a long time and I’m sorry to do this to you but I’m sure you’ll find someone else soon. Until we meet again.
