It was definitely arriving on Monday, last Monday that is. We stocked. We planned our route. We had a final dinner with friends. Then we heard that Tuesday was a Public Holiday in Greece to celebrate the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It's the biggest day in the Greek calendar, even bigger than Easter. All the Greeks return to their villages to celebrate so the Customs Officer couldn't do our transit log on Monday. It would have to be Wednesday.
So we are still on our pontoon but at least our friendly fisherman caught a fish.
Your patience has been truly tested but as Christos my Athenian friend always said ‘aThis is Greece!’. Hopefully you will be on your way soon. Look forward to your updates Jane.
