Lest you think we are just sailing around the Greek islands having the time of our lives, we’ve actually been coughing and spluttering our way round the Greek islands not particularly enjoying ourselves very much at all. God knows where we got a cold from as we spend most of the time on our own but I started the tell-tale snivelling 10 days ago and Andy followed a few days later. We have scoured the local pharmacies for Night Nurse and Lemsips to no avail – you can practically any drug you want over the counter here – but can you get a jollop of Night Nurse or a Vick Sinex spray? You can’t.
In case Andy’s cold turned feral we decided to come away from the isolated little bays of Meganissi and come back to Nidri in Lefkas where doctors would be on hand just in case. In fact he stayed well and we had the added bonus of meeting up with Jay, Hannah and Aine on Whuati, friends of friends, and could share a few evenings with them. The last two nights we anchored in a little bay called Ormos Kapali and were joined by more friends in their boat Cormoran. A loud evening was had accompanying Jay on his guitar. You would not want to have been there.
Great couple of days. Swimming, eating, drinking and singing. With great company.
Hope to see you again soon maybe when we head north.
